Fresh Cut

Up early for the Ladies St Ives estate walk, as was the sun and today it was all ladies as a couple are away on holiday.

I was looking forward to walking through the long grass in the meadow but it had just been cut. Smelling lovely but to follow the path we had to walk across the lines of cut grass so ended up walking between them instead which took us off piste!

All the swans and very large cygnets at the pond got a little feed and at the end in a backwater there was a striking light coloured mallard standing over her recent braid of ducklings.

That was enough for today in the heat so I took to the shade again in the garden for the rest of the day.
