Shopping

Today was devoted to shopping.

After discovering that the butcher we had been using was not selling British bacon, even though we had initially been lead to believe that it was (perhaps he changed his supplier), we decided we would go further afield to the butcher we found just before our Norwegian cruise in 2020, followed by lockdown.

Double the distance but they grow their own lamb (it’s a farm shop) and source all their other meat and goodies locally.  They have expanded their operation slightly to include telephone ordering, so in a few weeks’ time (£90 worth today) I will sally forth again.

I was very pleased to see that they are keeping strictly to masks and hand hygiene, so that’s another plus.

It was my intention to photograph the shop - very quaint in its own way.  It’s set back between two houses, I guess a farm house/cottage and another, and possibly started life as a garage.  Unfortunately I forgot, so here is one of the Coop at Morton, my local top-up shop. As you can see the shelves are stacked with fruit and veg.

Veg delivery tomorrow,  fish delivery on Wednesday, and we have yet to put our supermarket delivery order in - our fridges and freezers will be full to bursting.

Cauliflower cheese for tea tonight.
