The Princess and the Dog

Delayed Break

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

We arrived at Gleneagles yesterday for a couple of nights. Originally Albert had booked it for all of us last year to celebrate his 80th but, Corona.

I’ll be honest, none of us were very excited about going. Penny absolutely loved it there so it felt bittersweet but we had a lovely day. The weather was absolutely amazing (26°C). The Prince and The Duke played golf in the morning whilst Albert and I wandered round part of the grounds and The Mini Princesses went back to their room to “immerse themselves in the Gleneagles experience” by getting into the big fluffy robes and making coffee from the machine. This is despite the fact that they both hate coffee!

We all went clay pigeon shooting in the afternoon. The Youngest Mini Princess seemed to have a natural talent with a shotgun that felt borderline worrying. Especially when she would ask if she had hit the clay after blasting it to dust!

Inevitably, Penny was missed most at dinner, but we paid tribute in a way that would have made her proud - by raising a glass of a very lovely NZ Sauvignon Blanc.
