Sunflowers and Birds

It was the perfect morning for a trip to the sunflower field, after missing the entire season last year due to Covid.  The flowers were gorgeous, with many buds remaining, and few seeds formed.  Even so, there were several Indigo Buntings, probably feeding on insects.  I recommend that you check out Suzanne's photo that she got this morning of this brilliant blue bird on a vine entangled flower.  We also spotted this Prothonotary Warbler, a first for me in a sunflower field, feeding on tiny insects.  She has one in her beak that she plucked from the stem.  I'm already looking forward to going back to the field.
