Flooded again

A wander along the Great River Ouse with N. Hiking boots throughly tested and they are more waterproof than we thought (luckily!).

Some of the paths were flooded, but we had a walk along the riverside which was mostly fine. Saw three older herons, all out stalking and hunting. I saw one of them lunge forwards with a sudden jerk and at first I thought it had slipped in the mud and got its beak stuck in the riverbank! It was almost flat out on its face. But then it pulled out a mouse with its beak and gulped in down. Was too amazed watching it to get more than a blurry shot.
