The hissing of summer lawns

A little disappointment for Ottawacker Jr. last night as his football was cancelled for the second time in a week, this time for a thunderstorm, so I took him out for an extra-long kick-about at the park. Two-and-a-half hours later, we both crawled to the car.

I'd also forgotten I had an appointment at the hospital to have an Xray on my hips. As I hobbled in, I was asked the usual Covid-related questions, followed by a "do you want wheelchair assistance?" ... for a moment I was tempted, but then thought better of it.

Another glorious summer's day, which were it not for the forest fires in northern Ontario, might convince me Canada is alright, really...
