A Delta Reflection

Ah… the village pub! We used to go there sometimes on a Friday night. All the local dogs would be in the outside dining area.

A quick nod to Rex and Freddy, don’t even look at Brutus in case he takes it the wrong way! Settle under a corner table. Pizza and salad for the folks. Bits of crust coming my way under the table…

Back to reality. Covid delta busting out in three states. Queensland has closed the border again, hoisted the drawbridge, no southerners allowed! An air hostess has been working the Outback route whilst infective. Eek! Everyone’s getting tested. The folks still haven’t had their second shot!

People are still eating at the pub, check in on the app, masks off once seated. The folk opt for take away. Order by phone, pick it up at the drive through bottle shop. The same meal they always order, but in a box!

I guess we’re getting there!
