Emotional farewells

I hadn’t expected to feel so emotional about leaving this job. The day started with official farewells from the Head. When he got teary it set the rest of us off!
Then my TAs had organised a surprise picnic with my class and, for some of the children it all became too much as they realised this meant it was our last day together. Tears and final goodbyes out of the way and I could enjoy a meal out with colleagues in the evening sunshine. What a fantastic bunch of people I have worked with; they’ve made me feel very special and I shall miss them all.
