Lower Slaughter Mill

We drove up to the Cotswolds for a birthday celebration today. My sister in law is having a big one and this was supposed to be a surprise party. Unfortunately the spa hotel were booked into went down with the covids and  had to cancel. Vicki (her sister) managed to book another hotel although it doesn't have the same facilities. In my opinion it's in a better spot, in Lower Slaughter which is a beautiful quintessential Cotswold village with the river Eye flowing through it. I called in here once before in 2018 and blipped the mill but this is a slightly different viewpoint.

We've had a lovely meal in the hotel and the weather has been beautiful. I think it all changes tomorrow though. The journey up was fairly awful. We left home about 11 and expected to be close by lunchtime. At one o'clock we had only reached Sedgemoor services which was rammed. We used the facilities and grabbed a drink and a sandwich from WH Smiths and returned to the car to eat.
