My 70TH BC#Introduce

HI Guys today is my 70th.
My family came to Aus 60 years ago from Poland not a word of English between us. I started school straight away and as is the want of the playground was taught the "naughty words" first. Thankfully the good Sisters of Mercy taught me how to speak and read the Queen's English.

My first job out of school a lot earlier  than I wanted do to an untimely death of my stepfather I was apprenticed to a Graphic Arts Print Shop. This was before onset computers the photos that appeared in print had to be engraved in zinc plates.
The photo was exposed on a zinc plate that was coated with a light sensitive emulsion hardened and washed away with acid, horrible job.

This started my journey  into photography, darkrooms and developing. Starting with a Kodak Instamatic, Pracktika TTL, Olympus OEM, Kodak Digital. Currently I have a Canon 60D, Canon 5Dmk2, a FujiXT1 and a Lumix the last 3 thanx to my very generous Son in Law Daniel who started me on the road to blip. Unfortunately Dan does not blip any more and this is my second iteration to blip.
And not to forget the camera that we always have with us the mobile phone, I have seen some cracker images on Blip from them, as has been said your best camera is the one you have with you.

I am thankful to my exposure to analog photography, this gave me  a greater understanding of the art of photography. I have undertaken quite a few courses in photography, and doing my best to keep up with current trends, Youtube is a font of knowledge and inspiration. I like to think that I have progressed from taking "happy snaps" to something to something that people are happy to hang on their walls.

My Blip tag is Grandfather as I am grandfather to 7 of the most photographed kids out. My grandkids assume the pose when they see me with camera in hand. As their respective mothers have asked me not to post their shots they're not on blip.

I was a Mental Health Nurse for 35 years until a workplace injury moved me into clinical education. Retired for 10 years, two dodgy knees stop me from doing lots of things I did when more mobile ie: took photos in lots more riskier places than I do know. One comes to mind I tramping through the scrub and came upon a huge red bellied black snake sunning himself. My anal sphincter went into overdrive, he went one way and I went the other way, now I make a lot in noise in the scrub.

As I mentioned my dodgy knees previously now days I tend to stick to flat surfaces so most days I walk by the sea  shore as I find the ocean a calming and restful influence I do a lot of seascapes.
I intend to keep on blipping for as long as I can hold a camera and have the mental capacity to push the shutter.
