Gull in flight

After learning a little bit about how to start using my DSLR camera away from the automatic settings on Saturday, here is my first attempt at using the camera on full manual.

I decided to blip this picture even though it's not the sharpest nor the most interesting picture, but purely because I took it after setting the aperture and shutter speed manually. Perhaps I should have started with something a bit less ambitious as taking a shot of a bird in flight is not easy. I probably should have taken a picture of something that didn't move as my first attempt without the auto settings safety net. However I am pleased that I managed to get something acceptable and prove that I did learn something on Saturday.
