Like the green bay tree

We've repotted this bay bush given to us by my mum. I put bay leaves in my flour boxes to fend off the weevils which used to appear every summer. Someone passed this  hint to my mother at the market and it works. She always used to elicit chat and life stories wherever she was. Another market person said how her mother used to buy a pigs head and request the butcher to leave in the eyes "so it will see us through to the end of the week". People had stronger stomachs in those days!
