Mixed Traction
This weekend is a 'mixed traction' weekend on the North Norfolk Railway. These events are much busier on the railway, with more trains running and shorter gaps in the timetable. It's a lot of work for the volunteers, and Weybourne is the busiest station due to its sidings. In the photo from left to right is a steam train in the station, a diesel leaving the station in the other direction, Black Prince steam train on the edge of the sidings and a couple of other diesel freight trains in the sidings. I'd forgotten it was this weekend, but just happened to be doing a walk with my friend H from Sheringham Park to Weybourne. SP car park was full and cars were in the overflow car park at 9:30 when it opened, we soon realised it was because Park Run had restarted. This afternoon I watched the film Chernobyl 1986 on Netflix, not as classy as the drama series and dubbed, but some shocking scenes.
Day 495 / Day 6 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
There were 36,389 new cases today, down 30% from a week ago. There is growing chatter that the Govt has dropped all Covid restrictions and is hoping to achieve 'herd immunity' by lots of people getting infected - I'd be surprised if this were the case. Another 8 sectors have been added to the list of critical workers, including environmental health officers and staff operating critical flood defence assets - eek that they were missed!
