Roaches Figure of Eight Walk
It was a pleasure to walk today, even if it was a bit murky and we couldn't see much of The Roaches. The recent high temperatures meant walking was not an option for me.
This is the view from Roach End towards Danebridge. We did the classic Roaches figure of eight walk, which is about 7 miles, with a visit to Lud's Church on our way back. It's not a real church, but a deep chasm in the Millstone Grit caused by a huge landslide.
We finished the walk off with coffee and cake at The Roaches Tearoom, sitting outside admiring the view.
The afternoon was spent potting up summer planting for the summer insect visitors. The hovers were landing as I worked away. I can't wait for the butterflies.
