Harvest

First thing we drive to Horley to pick up my wedding ring. I took it off several weeks ago as my fingers started to swell with the heat. Then when I went to put it back on I couldn’t get it over my knuckle which had swollen up with the arthritis.
Plenty in the veg garden today. Picked rest of mange tout a few french beans and quite a few runner beans too. All prepared and in fridge or freezer. Carrots pulled and some tomatoes too. Later I picked the gooseberries and cooked for a crumble tomorrow. All in all I am pleased with this lot.
Restful afternoon and a pleasant walk this evening up to the high street for a coffee.
Canadian contingent phoned. They really are back in their happy place . They went kayaking this week on the river bow in a safe place and took Abigale. She sat in front of Matt in the kayak snd loved the waves- a mini white water. Later she did the same with mum. Madden was staying with them and tried kayaking for the first time and loved it.
