Hawker Hunter

One of the main attractions at the Air Station Museum. The Hawker Hunter celebrated its 70th anniversary this week. It first took flight on 20th July 1951.

The building it sits in is even older than that, it goes back to 1913 and is one of the original Burke’s Sheds named after the Major who was in charge of setting up the airfield.
