"Don't Be Stupid" sign

Only two chairlifts open today due to high avalanche danger. All the crazies and powder junkies were out in force. First ride up the lift and the sun came out with clearing skies. 36 hours of snow - non stop. I promptly began to make a foul of myself like all the other crazies... now after several runs I admit defeat. The temperature was much warmer and the sun softened the snow into a dismal cement. I couldn't figure out the right stance - too forward and I submarined, too far back and no forward motion. haha, excuses. And quite literally, up to the hip in many places. Good face shots and not just when I was falling down. haha

I love Courmayeur for one thing mainly - the views to Mont Blanc. Some times mysterious like in this picture. Other times in all her splendor - so big and huge and shear, seems like you can just reach and touch the black rock walls.
