Le Jog
….support crew.
In the northwest today for day 4 of LeJog to support lockdown son and his cycle buddy Adam doing the Lands End to John O’Groats challenge for Cancer Research on the Much Wenlock to Preston leg. Dropped J off on the Cheshire Plain near Tarporley to join them for 50+ miles. They were so excited by Pat’s flapjack and the thought of handing over their panniers for the rest of the day. I took the gear to Preston and we treated them to a steak dinner and bath salts for sore legs (since had good reports!). Parental duty done!
Just to record that I set my camera shutter speed to 1/2000 to capture the moving cyclists - hoping metadata will confirm
RHS Bridgewater- yesterday- has hardly had a look in - and we loved it! Architecturally striking Welcome Building, lovely woodland walk to the lake, with little grebes and chick - in extras- and covered in swathes of yellow water lilies. Fantastic huge walled garden full of plants and pollinators- the cardoons replete with bees were a knockout. Fascinating history, Queen Victoria visited on the Royal Barge. and on a personal level - J remembers going to scout camp here.
Great weekend! Hope you’ve had a good one too
