I had an interesting bus journey home this afternoon.
It started when the lady sitting next to me touched my arm, prompting me to take my earphones, and she complemented me on my nail polish, which happened to match my lunchbox and my ring.
We continued on to have a conversation about why we were both through in Glasgow and what we did etc etc. She kept mentioning her 'being unstable', which sort of made me sit back a little. She told me she was bi-polar and gave me quite an insight into what it was like when she was on lithium and also now when she's stopped that and is on olanzapine (the analysis I had done at work earlier, coincidentally). We spoke about travelling and her work in theatre and comedy, and her giving up smoking, and it was pretty much the best conversation you can imagine after such an un-nerving start. Most of the time if someone speaks to me on the bus I try to end the conversation as quickly as possible so I can nap, but she was very interesting and insightful and I felt more awake when I got home tonight than I probably would have if I had awoken all groggy after a slumber.
Thanks random bus lady!
