Parklife: Praying at Peace Pagoda...

...praying for some decent weather is what I will be doing, luckily though I got home just before the torrential downpour.

This is the London Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park, the Peace Pagoda was a gift to London from the Japanese Buddhist Order, Nipponzan Myohoji, in 1985.

The Pagoda is attended every morning by a monk who performs various rituals at the pagoda at sunrise, it was built because Reverend Gyoro Nagase , who came to England to assist in the construction of the first Peace Pagoda in the UK in Milton Keynes thought 'It is so important for a large city, such as London, to have such a spiritual centre,' (I thought that was the point of Camden Town on a Friday night).

Praying anywhere let alone in the middle of a Park isn't really my thing but if you are in the need for peace and enlightenment and you're walking down the Thames one day, well you now know where to go.
