Wheat & Wild..
Wild carrots along the edges of a wheat field - but sown as part of a seed mix not actually "wild". I'd been thinking where I could find some wild carrots with their fascinating seed heads when I noticed a huge expanse of them - a four to five metre wide strip around the margins of a wheatfield - on one of our local walks last week. I assume the strip had been sown as part of the "Countryside Stewardship" scheme to attract wildlife, but it also reduces the monotony of the landscape! P & S were persuaded to repeat the same walk with me again today. I've included a wide-angle shot across the corner of the field as an extra.
