We popped down to see BG and The Gov for the day. Late on in the afternoon we had a huge thunder storm and massive lightening strike which sounded so close it was like something had exploded. So much water came down that the drains couldn't cope and the water came in under the garage door and was heading towards the house. We managed to pump some out and empty the garage of stuff. Fortunately we saved the potato crop before it got soaked!

On the way home two out of the three routes out of the village were too flooded to pass. We made it out of the third way fortunately as we still had the horses to do and cats to feed. Felt a bit panicky we weren't going to get home. Didn't get to the horses till 8.30pm. They were not impressed!
