5 Wainwright's - a big walk!

An early start to avoid the hottest part of the day, we drove round to north of Bassenthwaite village and walked over Ullock Pike, Long Side, Carl Side, Skiddaw and Bakestall. The main pic was taken just below Skiddaw, looking back on Ullock Pike (on the right) and Long Side. Carl side is to the left of the pic, and the flattish looking path coming towards the camera is in fact a really steep scree slope leading from Carl Side up to the Skiddaw summit.

Greeat day - will need a couple of days to recover, managed only 9 miles, but about 3000 feet of climbing.
