Maybe it's just me ?

Why would anyone, even a pair of daft Canada Geese, scrounge around the side of the road in the mud ?
After all there are hundreds of acres of woodland, streams ponds , lakes within waddling distance.
Unless of course they are looking for discarded beer cans and McDonald cartons.
