Insects' Buffet!

Today I have been over to my Dad's. He phoned this morning (Earlier than I would have preferred...) to say that he would come and collect me in the light of my injured foot. I assured him I'd be OK and would take the train, but he said it would do him good to get behind the wheel and blow away a few cobwebs. It was agreed he would pick me up in town at the usual spot at 10 AM.

As I walked to town I realised that he would not be aware that his main route into town is closed! So I was not alarmed when he was half an hour late! He phoned me, having gone back home and arranged a different place to meet me - he was determined he was picking me up! At least the long walk to the new rendezvous point gave me the FitBit steps I would have missed.

He made it this time quite easily. He had not enjoyed the chaotic town traffic the previous time though.

At his we watched some Olympic gymnastics - well done GB women for a surprise bronze medal! I had a few jobs to do after lunch, then caught the train home as normal. Walking home through town I treated myself to an iced latte from an independent coffee shop - my first coffee of the day since the milk was more like cottage cheese this morning! Our fridge does not seem to keep things as cold as it should!

I was still without a Blip so took this shot whilst outside doing the bins. I was amazed at how many insects are dining on the hanging basket flowers! But really, that is what flowers are for, and the insects play an important part in the ecosystem!
