A walk in Acomb woods
I spent the morning sending out birthday party invitations by email. It's lovely when people reply with enthusiasm almost immediately.
Then I printed invitations to go by post. This evening I wrote the envelopes and Mum read out the addresses. This speeded up the proceedings a lot.
I decided that I needed fresh air this afternoon, so I drove to Acomb and did the shorter version of the walk through the woods. I feel as though the flowers have bloomed and gone to seed much earlier this year, but I may be wrong.
I expect to see Devil's bit Scabious later in the summer, but here is an example growing near the river North Tyne.
It's another of my favourite plants. I like it when the stamens are pink, but this example is very pretty.
