Almost Home
Sunny and terribly hot all day, high of 95 degrees F. Decided to take our time packing up, we are getting too old to go 100 mph all the time. We left the park at 12:15 pm although checkout is 11:00 am I think. We noticed the management seemed to be laid back on in/out times because folks were in and out all hours of the day/night. We’d been on the road 15 minutes when a car went by, honked and motioned to the camper. Uh oh, had my daughter jinxed us? Hubby had failed to attach one of the safety chains and I guess it was sparking as it scraped along the road. Easy fix, thank the Lord. The funny thing is, as we started driving home, Hubby asked me to run through the checklist with him because he had an uneasy feeling. He’d done everything on the list. When he got back in the truck, we immediately added “safety chains connected?” We’d both been hungry for wings so that’s what we had for lunch. It is always comforting to drive over the Thomas Johnson bridge, enjoying scenes like this and knowing home is about 10 minutes from the end of it. We pulled in our driveway and started unpacking around 5:00 pm. Thanks for dropping by, leaving sweet comments, stars and hearts. “The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.” – Wendy Wunder.
