Lion Hound

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are also known as Lion Hounds, because they were bred in southern Africa from a whole variety of other dog varieties specifically to track and then hold lions at bay. Presumably then the human hunter would arrive to dispatch the blameless lion for the purposes of showing off.

According to my research the following breeds are in the mix which makes up the Ridgeback that is Jeaniebean:
·         Africanis (southern African native dog)
·         German pointer
·         Airedale terrier
·         Border collie
·         Bull mastiff
·         Bloodhound
·         Greyhound
·         Great Dane
She is the Bitsa of all Bitsas (bitsa this, bitsa that).

I doubt she'd chase a lion though: unexpected leaves blowing around the lawn scare her.

We had a great walk at Bortons Pond today in weather which was supposed to be "Clear with occasional passing high cloud". It was none of these things: the cloud was low and it persisted all day. But we weren't deterred.
