AT 9AM..... ROOM 101

Becky came to The Travelodge at about 8.30am and we waited for Mike. Around 9am he texted saying he was outside with the hire car. So here I am outside my room..... ROOM 101 just before going out for the day.

" Room 101 is a place introduced in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. It is a torture chamber in the Ministry of Love in which the Party attempts to subject a prisoner to his or her own worst nightmare, fear or phobia."

( My Room 101 was OK really - apart from last nights leg cramp.)

We headed straight for Starbucks for breakfast and then to Oxfordshire to Bicester Village - shopping outlet. What a place. Great if you have pots of money. Full of designer shops. Prices were heavily discounted but most things were still pricey. I saw a Mulberry handbag I liked. It was £4,000 reduced to £1,600. Have to win the lottery to make that purchase.

Becky got quite a few things in the Emma Bridgewater shop and in Cath Kidston. I bought a pinny ( apron ) in Emma Bridgewater.

It rained the whole time we were there and for the rest of the day too.

After we left Bicester BECKY wanted to go to Kidlington which is also in Oxfordshire. Becky and Mike lived there for a few weeks about 6 years ago when they were house sitting for Mike's sister. We had a wander around and Mike bought some meat in a butchers shop they used to go to when they lived there.

We were getting hungry by now so decided to head for somewhere we could get a pub meal. Ended up in Woodstock and enjoyed some good grub in THE STAR INN. I had a massive chicken ham and leek pie with chips.

Then we went back to Becky and Mikes and unpacked the car. Mike then took it back to the hire place near Heathrow and got the tube home.

Had a lovely relaxing evening and later on Mike cooked a wonderful LASAGNE

Since I last visited Becky and Mike they have acquired 2 pets - a couple of DEGUS named MR CURIOUS and MUFFIN. 2 boys. Degus need to be kept in pairs of the same sex. They are really cute.

Later in the evening Becky and Mike accompanied me on the bus back to the Travelodge. I had no problems with cramp during the night thank goodness.
