Whatever the weather

We were so looking forward to our first WI meeting since February 2020. It would be great to see everybody in the flesh and have a good chat, instead of Zooming which is just not the same.
Our forward thinking committee booked a local tithe barn that has a lovely garden and we were asked to bring chairs so that we could sit in the sunshine for our picnic.
But it was one of those days! One of those days with frequent very heavy downpours and gusty wind. Fortunately there is plenty of room inside the barn and we all sat round big tables and caught up with each other. We had a good tea with sandwiches and cakes and we swapped paperbacks at £1for three in aid of funds.
It was a shame about the weather, but it didn’t really matter.
