Patchings' Monet Pond

After Len returned from tennis we drive to Patchings' Art Centre north of Nottingham, where the RPS Visual Arts Group exhibition was on show. Each member who had entered three photos was guaranteed one photo to be put on display. Mine is the one on the top right on the back wall in the extra. I was disappointed in the reproduction. The group had very kindly printed the photos but I hadn't been able to stipulate the profile for the paper used and it had turned out dark and contrasty. The skin tones were yellowish. Never mind, it was on display.

Len was delighted with Patchings. They'd put a shelter up over the courtyard so that we were able to lunch outside. Len had a delicious looking home made quiche followed by apple pie and custard. I was happy with my all day breakfast, minus sausage, with GF toast and marmalade. The lattes were good too.

After we'd taken turns to view the exhibition because we had Basil with us, we walked up to the Monet Pond. The environment was still green despite the heat of the last two to three weeks and the water lilies were out.

Basil ventured to the edge through the mossy growth to drink from the pond - before he realised that he was more than knee deep in water. He did not look amused as he retreated.
