"Spotlight"
Thanks again to everyone who helped blast my 'Drug of Choice' Blip of yesterday up into the stratosphere and into the top six on Blip's Spotlight
The star of that image, which was even mistaken for as the sun, was the Spotlight in this title, the bright yellow security light on a building that is concealed by vegetation and indeed, its own brightness.
With similar conditions tonight - less mist though, which desaturates the colour (light and colours clings to mist and fog) but well dodgy rainy stuff on its way for the next few nights, it was a quick set-up to get this. An absolutely amazing giant of a tree in the foreground that I've yet to do justice to in its full glory. Almost the same exposure even but as there's a lot more between the light source(s) it looks darker than yesterday's, more subdued all round and the 10-24mm Nikkor at its widest this time. Pretty good depth of field for an aperture of just f5!
I did no more than to lighten the whole image a bit - no shadow extraction or work on particular areas. I decided it was too complicated to do so and that it probably didn't need it and as it is now, there are some nice patterns between light and shadow in the branch areas. With its more mellow tones, looks somewhat autumnal, to me...(what happened to spring & summer!?)
Go in on 'L' - large to see the details better.
