Japanese artistry

Looking for a Japanese theme for Olympics Day 6, I was reminded of the wonderful paper and fabric objects we found in Japan, made with such care and skill, each one a perfect work of art. We brought home this useful Japanese box to put things in (with apologies to Pooh).

In Sydney the Covid numbers are worse. It looks as though contact tracing isn’t going to beat the virus this time. Only isolation and vaccinations will do it.

In Tokyo Jessica Fox won gold in the canoe slalom.It was lovely to witness her sheer joy. This is what the Olympics should be about.
