"Amongst the Basil"

.....Every day he sits there, in the very same place - sometimes he has little friends who come and tell him off for sitting in their spot...quite a racket is created out there on the verandah amongst the Basil at times, but he's just so patient and watches, and watches, and sometimes - our friends have said in passing: 'what a dear little bird - just look at him sitting there".

He survives a jolly good hosing down as well and doesn't mind one bit if the Basil is picked around him...yes, he's an ornamental bird who looks so realistic the birds give him 'whatto' as they say..he doesn't mind at all..!

And sometimes, he even tricks us...into thinking - there's another little bird...
