Postering

One of our less wise decisions was to 'keep some of the style' of the four-poster bathroom.  Thus, the posts we left on the walls need cleaning up and some of the other need refurbishing and putting back in places so as to make the other remnants look less... odd.

And there's the whole issue of trying to match the varnish colour, which we like (though I'm going off it rapidly) but is seemingly unmatchable.

Tip.  Sadolin's "deep pigment" mahogany varnish is, essentially, purple paint.  Pointless in so many ways.
