But it was close!  
Gold went to Slyvester Squirrel and even Sammy acknowledged that Sly's run in the Peanut Grab & Bury event was spectacular.  In fact, the two competitors jumped off the podium and began hugging chasing each other around each trying to bite congratulate the other.  

This event has always been a crowd favorite and this year was no exception.  For those spectators who might be unfamiliar with this event and wondering why there were only two competitors on the podium, it's because past experience has shown that three or more squirrels on a podium at the same time is a recipe for disaster.  

Team Stellar's Jay was disqualified for stealing peanuts off the relay course before the squirrels even had a chance to get there.  They were reprimanded for their aggressive behavior.  I believe there was a similar incident in the New Jersey Stadium when Team Blue Jay swiped peanuts during the peanut-shucking race.  

In other events, Gloria and Team Canada Goose continue to practice, practice, practice but remain somewhat ragged in their execution of complex routines which require precision synchronization. (See Extra)
