Sea air
Started much sunnier and brighter this morning so we headed to Cley-next-the-sea and walked along a good stretch of the shingle beach towards Blakeney point and back. Windy but lovely…and good to see the sea rather than the salt marsh and muddy creeks elsewhere.
Back into Cley which was lovely (amazing bakers!) although clogged with traffic, and we had a good coffee overlooking a board walk through the reeds in the sun. Called V on her last day…they were having more celebrations and surprises so she was on good form.
From there we went to Holt and enjoyed a few hours exploring the galleries and shops and had a lovely tea and cake in a sheltered garden, then set off for a drive to Cromer along the coast. Parked up and walked along pier and around the town… very different to the upmarket villages we’ve spent most of the week in!
Back via a drink at Salthouse pub to dinner at The Moorings in Blakeney. Delicious fish soup, sea bass and summer pudding and good sunset views before a dark cross country drive home and straight to bed…lovely day!
