Zwartbles sheep
Zwartbles sheep, used both for milk and meat, were kept by Dutch dairy farmers in Friesland, from the beginning of last century. With changing farming practices, by the mid 1970’s their numbers had drastically fallen., Subsequently, they were adopted by Dutch Rare Breed Survival Trust. (Sheep 101.com).
They have quite a following in the UK with about 147 herds to date. I’ve never seen them before, until today! Very pretty sheep.
