Down at the dairy.....

A day of this and that.
First job was to round up enough staff to bring in another field of cows and calves to wean. Once that was done, headed off with the mower to finish cutting the rest of the field we baled on Monday. If I had been braver and hadn’t believed the weather forecast I could have had it all cut and baled by now .
Anyhow it came on rain at lunchtime , so stopped again.
Took Littlemiss down to our next door neighbours dairy as she was wanting to get some experience of milking cows and seeing how things are done compared to the beef cows we have here.
I headed back out at tea time to finish mowing once it faired up.
Then spent the evening spreading slurry on a bit of ground the sand quarry are busy reinstating. Had it all done by 9 pm. By half nine it was getting dark. Soon be Christmas ......
