Reprieve

I thought the clematis plant In a pot in the garden was looking a bit old and sickly. Rather pale leaves and very few flowers this year. Time to put it on the compost heap and use some new compost and get a new plant. Then I noticed the hoverfly gorging itself on whatever they gorge themselves on from clematis. So the plant has won a stay of execution for now. The hoverfly obligingly waited while I got my camera too. Much less flighty than bees.
