Peas, beans and a cuppa
I thought we'd better visit the Walled Garden in good time this morning as Green Shoots had an Open Day starting at 11am - visitors can pick fruit and veg in return for a donation. Although I only went four days ago there were so many peas! I should have sown fewer at longer intervals, but anyway, we picked another 8 pounds. Half of that will go to the Hope Kitchen as we get to use the veggie beds free of charge - it's the least we can do. Picked a fair number of runner beans too - we'll have peas and beans with our fish shortly!
Popped into the library for a quick visit afterwards - very quiet today.
Made a cuppa after lunch and sat out on the deck with my Kindle. It was barely warm enough, with a chilly breeze, but it wasn't long before it warmed up considerably and really got too hot to sit, so I reverted to my usual pottering - weeding pots and chucking out the dead plants. Sad to see some favourites gone, and good to find plants which I thought I'd lost. Not good having so many plants sitting in pots over a wet winter. Must get some more planted!
