Lunch!

Today we've had no rain and at last the wind has dropped. We went for a short cycle ride, stopping for coffee and to buy some produce  at a farm shop which has recently reopened. While enjoying our refreshment the farmer came along to  feed his Oxford Sandy and Black sows which,  in turn, fed their piglets.  Seeing me photographing  them he came over and we had quite a chat about his  pigs, sheep and cattle which are all reared outdoors. The Oxford S and B,  recognisable by their  ginger coats with black spots, are a rare breed which  does well outdoors, the sows make  good mothers and, apparently, their meat tastes good. These pigs certainly looked content in their generous sized pens on Hampshire chalk downland.
