Biological pest control

I caught a tiny lacewing having a relaxing time and sipping buddleia nectar in the sun (between the showers!) on my favourite plant in the woods by the river. That is what the adult does: feed on nectar, pollen and honeydew, well and mate..to make sure that a new generation will see the light.
The larvas on the other hand are not at all vegetarians, they feed on soft bodied insects, like aphids and spidermites and have earned a place in the heart of gardeners as they can rid their plants of feared pests. Now one can buy lacewing eggs or larvas (even online) and release them in the garden as biological pest control for the benefit of everyone!
