Slug City

Yesterday this was a thriving sunflower plant with three flowers on it. This morning it’s a shadow of its former self and the five slugs I found on it could hardly move. Including the Houdini one hanging by the thin thread.

We’ve had a real problem with slugs this summer but this is the worst it’s been. After every rain shower I spend a good few minutes finding slugs and slinging them over the wall into the waste ground behind. I wondered if slug slinging would make a good Olympic sport. I’d probably get gold :-))))
