Lammas

My partner went for a run while I went to the allotment. Then I went round to Mum’s. I did some shopping for her which included buying some cheerful sunflowers. I put on her church service which is streamed live on YouTube.
In the afternoon we went on the country walk from the house to Georgetown Village and up along the Craig’s ridge , where we came upon beautiful fields of golden barley.
I later found out it was Lammas day. August begins with Lammas Day, Loaf Mass Day, the day in the Book of Common Prayer calendar when a loaf baked with flour from newly harvested corn would be brought into church and blessed.
