Another Day, Another Castle
Alentejo has a lot of castles, often Moorish in origin, from the days of defending their kingdom, and then all along the border to defend Portugal from Castile, and many built on Roman foundations.
Had to go to Montemor-o-Novo today (further than Évora) to meet the guy who helped with our Land purchase about another process that has been ongoing (well, mostly not going, actually). Got a view we'd never seen before of the back of the castle and the defunct iron railway bridge (which you can walk or cycle over).
And then various purchases in Évora, including new rope for the swing and a bench for outside. Then to Reguengos to the notary office, where we miraculously got an authenticated copy of the document we needed in record time.
Mike just had time to get one more end of shade cloth up, before a Zoom meeting I'd totally forgotten about, which Lydie thankfully reminded me of!
Gratefuls:
- Américo's help, we'd never have figured it out on our own
- good, positive chat with Paul
- Tom's first day in his new job going well
