Visionary
Christopher Rhinelander Robert (1802-1878)
Co-founder of the school, his image hangs on the wall of the Conference Room, the venue for today's Department Head meeting.
When, in 1865, Robert was searching in New York for young tutors to hire for his new school in Istanbul, his criteria for suitable applicants included:
"An enthusiast in his work, determined to make better scholars than any other teacher has ever done and inpsiring them with a love of learning."
150 years later, same goal, different style.
