Happy Birthday Murphy!

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

It’s Murphy’s birthday today - big 5 year old boy! His indestructible pig toy had no ears and only 3 legs about 5 minutes after Murphy had opened his present!

We went to Arnside beach this afternoon for a wander. It is so lovely being away from home and spending time together. We went to a really nice pizza restaurant, Avanti, for dinner and sat outside in the sunshine. Just before the food arrived, Murphy decided he’d had enough of this whole being on a lead by the table business. He conveyed his feelings by barking so he went back to the apartment for a snooze. Too much birthday excitement!

After dinner, The Mini Princesses went back to the apartment and The Prince and I decided to go to The Kings Arms to have a bottle of wine. It was a great pub. The staff were all lovely and had an easy camaraderie with each other. It reminded me of working in a pub (many moons ago). A black lab (see extra) wandered over to The Prince for back scratches and we ended up chatting to his owner, who owns the pub. He brought out a treat for The Prince to give his dog - fillet steak from the kitchen. I won’t be telling Murphy in case he gets any ideas.

We were just getting ready to leave when the pub closed and to my great excitement, the owner came over and asked if we would like another drink. I haven’t had a lock-in for a good couple of decades. I felt like we were practically locals!
