Visitor day

Started the day with hubby and I visiting AJ - inside! After completing a LFT, sitting outside for 30 mins (ok as we watched the women’s 400m final), went in to AJs room. Felt so strange to be inside, first time since March 2020. AJ pleased to see us, managed a few practical tasks (re-programming phone and updating favourites on television) and caught up on things. Lovely visit :)

Back home for a quick lunch, and then an hours drive for our next visit. in October 2019, our children and partners gave me an “experience” at the Bombay Sapphire distillery. Today we made that visit! A lovely guided tour, full history of how Warrington Gin changed to Bombay Sapphire and to be distilled in the lovely grade II listed buildings in Laverstock, Hampshire. A trip around the infamous greenhouse (photo is of a flower in the tropical greenhouse), the iconic landmark designed by Thomas Heatherwick, depicting gin flowing into the River Test. The tour was finished off with a complimentary cocktail. See extra collage. :)
