August in Athens and everyone leaves the city and heads to the islands, it really is much quieter. The photo is Syntagma - the heart of the city.
Today the PM asked that we be very careful with our energy consumption as power cuts are expected. Not a good situation for anyone. I only have one AC unit and we’ve been asked to keep them at 26C - manageable until about 6pm. Staying here another month with a much lower price - I suspect a review that doesn’t mention a less than great bed and an old TV is sought.
So sad seeing the fires here and in Turkey.
